71-Year-Old Man Dies, Suspect Arrested

Around 7:15 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, Police attended a report of an altercation involving two males, outside of  the Pickled Restaurant on Front Street, in the City of Hamilton.

On arrival, officers observed the 71-year-old victim had sustained a serious head injury and was lying on the ground.

He was attended to at the scene by Emergency Medical Services personnel and subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was warded for further treatment.

Sadly, he has succumbed to his injuries.

A suspect has been arrested in relation to this matter.
