Unsolved Murder – Michael Steven PHILLIPS
The Bermuda Police Service is investigating the unsolved murder of Michael Phillips who was murdered on the 14th October 2012, at approximately 9.35pm. Phillips was at the Mid Atlantic Boat Club, #37 North Shore Road, Devonshire. Phillips often frequented the Mid Atlantic Boat Club and was known to staff at the premises On this particular night Phillips had been socialising at the bar and was leaving the club at around 9.30pm. He exited the premises at the main entrance door where security staff were standing at the time. Phillips then got on his motorcycle and was about to ride on to North Shore Road, when one of two persons carrying firearms approached him and fired several shots at him whilst on his motorcycle. The other person entered the club through the main entrance and discharged a shot. Both gunmen left the scene on foot and were seen running away in a westerly direction on North Shore Road.
Both gunmen are described as having small build, wearing dark clothing and dark helmets with dark visors. The gunman that ran inside the club had a white scarf covering his face under the visor.
Phillips was shot several times and succumbed to his injuries. He was 42 years old at the time of his death and has two children.
There were numerous persons in the area at the time of the incident and despite an extensive investigation, Detectives have been unable to resolve the case. Therefore, Crime Stoppers are again appealing to the public for assistance.
