Seven people were recently arrested in connection with suspected fraud from local banks involving automated teller machines (ATMs). It is understood that the scammers made several attempts, at various ATM locations, to access approximately $200,000 in total, but were unsuccessful. It is further believed that approximately $120,000, or more, has been stolen during the incidents occurring over the last couple of months.   One of the seven individuals, a 39-year-old local man, was charged in relation to these matters in Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 1st October 2025.

Around 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, police and emergency medical personnel responded to reports of multiple people injured in a shooting near the junction of Court Street and Dundonald Street, Pembroke. The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can now confirm the identity of the male, whose lifeless body was found in the area of Fentons Drive, Pembroke, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, as 54-year-old Jason Liburd.
